Details of the Eiffel Tower…I like the intricate workmanship and pattern…
It was my first time to see the Eiffel Tower and to tell you the truth I was surprised by the size and height. I guess I just expected it to be larger and taller. Not that it was a midget by any standard since the whole tower is 324m in height. I also did not expect the actual color of the ironwork to be bronze. I thought it would be the color of silver or steel.
According to the official website of the Eiffel Tower at the end of 2009, the tower has already been visited by almost 250 millions tourists. WOW!
More interesting info: The total cost for building the tower is 7,800,000.00 gold Francs during the year 1889. I wonder how much it would cost if you build an iron lattice tower like the Eiffel Tower today?
